I'm alive!!!

Seriously, RL has been kicking ass and taking names forever.  Let's catch up:

DH and I lost our minds last August and decided to sell our house and buy another one.  That whole process sucked so much but we saw a house that was PERFECT.  Lovely neighborhood with great schools.  Closer to both of our work and his parents.  It has an in-ground pool and with the equity from our first home, completely affordable.  So we raced to sell our home before the house we wanted sold.  Anyway, we ended up getting the house that we wanted.  It's not our dream home but it's really good for the next 10 years or so.

Work has been crazy, terrible crazy.

And then I started an MBA program.

Then my husband went to Boston on Memorial Day for 5 weeks for work.  He'll finally be back on Friday.

I've missed having time to write.  I had to fight to be able to finish off some old stories.   I have this series What Happens on Kobol ... which is a series of 1st person scenes from Kobol.  I posted parts one and two.   Parts 3 and 4 are forthcoming after this post.

Spoilers:  Season 3, sort of.  It’s mostly a bit of speculation based on the promo and Adama’s “I’m going back” line.  I don’t know many spoilers past that so this is probably safe, but you know, you’ve been warned.

 

So last night, after responding to some reader comments, I was on YouTube looking at some fan music videos for BSG and Star Wars. It's weirdly fascinating how some are really, really good and some are basically a song someone liked and some scenes that they liked put together in one big mess of noise. There was one that was so frakking fantastic though, that I ended up doing two things:

1. Buying the song off iTunes.
2. Signing up for a YouTube account so that I could post a comment.

It's weird, because that video is easily one of the best up there in terms of perfect execution of a well-chosen theme, excellent song choice and fantastically diverse scenes but it's only been viewed about 285 times compared to much higher numbers for much crappier material.  Anyway, it's really rather excellent if you haven't seen it, so I thought I'd put it up here (behind the cut).

I know you all thought I'd been kidnapped or something but I'm back and still writing.  It's just been a very, very busy, hectic time at work.  I've somehow caught a cold in the middle of a heat wave and I haven't been able to sleep well at night because of the post-nasal drip.  The result is that I can actually get some fan fic stuff done, so I guess there's a bright side to just about everything.

And work still sucks. I miss BSG. Not because it's off until October. Because my frakking job is killing me. Slowly, one stressful, long-ass day at a time. And right now, it's late and I'm trying to study for my freaking GMAT and the neighbors goddamn car alarm keeps going off because he locked his frakking keys in there and had to do that stick-something-into-the-door-and-jimmy-it-around-thing to get the door open and the car now thinks it's being jacked and is making a racket that he can't seem to shut off. If it wakes up my kid (who has been a 2 year old nightmare lately), I'm going to go set the fucker on fire.

Sigh.

Ok. Violent urges have passed.

I miss BSG. :(
